The Appalachian Garden
The un-glaciated Appalachian Plateau of SE Ohio is represented here. It features Peebles Dolomite limestone (the biggest piece is from Helen Black's farm) and Black Hand sandstone (from the abutment from a collapsed covered bridge in Licking county) cradling lots of interesting plants. Some were brought into Ohio by the ancient Teays River and are found naturally in only a few places in the state.
