This sandstone comes from Mill Creek Park, Ohio’s first park district, founded in 1891, which is now a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in Mahoning County, Mill Creek Park has preserved the remnants of early sites of industry including the Bears Den Quarry, in which William McKinley invested. The quarry yielded much of the sandstone used throughout the park for bridges, retaining walls and structures. | Mahoning
