Paulding County has clay-like soil, a remnant from its time as part of the Great Black Swamp, and has mostly limestone in our many quarries. In choosing a stone for the Governor’s residence, we knew the limestone (which is indigenous for this county) would not be durable enough for the garden project. The stone we sent is a “blue” stone and was chosen because of its hard quality, much like marble. | Paulding
